Here are some Ideas:

SAND Ceremony

Two or more vessels ( This ceremony may include children to make them feel like part of the ceremony ) of sand are poured together either into a third keepsake vessel, or into the wind to represent the coming together of your lives.

There are many more variations of each of these ceremonies as well as others like the traditional Unity Candle Ceremony

HANDFASTING Ceremony

This is a Celtic wedding ritual.  It involves the tying of hands together to symbolize their coming together and remaining bond together in marriage as the ties that bind.

ROSE Ceremony

There are essentially 2 different ways to incorporate a rose into a wedding.  But please remember this important fact:  this is your wedding ceremony and you can present a rose in any way that feels right to you.  Here are some suggestions:

A Rose to Mothers of the Bride and Groom is usually done at the beginning of the wedding ceremony.  Either the bride and groom can offer a rose to each mother after the presentation of the bride, or they can give a rose at the beginning of the ceremony after prompting by the wedding officiant.

A Wedding Rose Ceremony is a part of the wedding ceremony that takes place usually after the wedding vows.  Where as the Groom and or Bride can give a single rose to each other symbolic of their love as 1st wedding gift.

WINE Ceremony

There are many ways to perform a wine ceremony.  And the great thing is that there is no one way to do it.  You can start your own wine wedding tradition.  One way is for Bride & Groom will go to the table and each take a carafe.  Pouring into a single glass and then drinking from it symbolizing the unity of their marriage.

COIN Ceremony

Is usually a Latin tradition.  During the Coin ceremony the groom drops 13 coins into the bride‘s hands representing her dowry and his vow to support her.   Or sometimes the ring bearer will also take the coins in a coin purse down the aisle.  The wedding officiant gives the coins to both the bride and groom, usually pouring the contents of the purse into the bride and groom’s open palms.  He will then say a blessing, wishing them prosperity.

SALT Covenant

During ancient times, agreements and promises were sealed by a salt covenant. Each person would take a pinch of salt from their pouch and place it in the pouch of the other. This agreement could not be broken unless an individual could retrieve their own grains of salt.

BALLOON Release

Consider gathering your parents and even siblings all releasing balloons together. When they hit the sky, they will all be united, symbolizing the joining of your families.

Have Children

You can include your children in a unity ceremony. Ask one or more of your children to bring up a ribbon. They will bind your hands together, symbolizing their blessing on your union.  It is best to do this after you exchange rings!  Or they can take part in the sand ceremony as described above.

You can even be creative and invent your own tradition. No matter what the ceremony or the tradition, your wedding is your day, have your way.
